Inspired by a vision for a broad based community team, celebrating cultural diversity and sporting passion through football, Melbourne Heart FC was established in 2009.

Drawing a link between past, present and future, the Heart’s founders aimed to develop a club truly representative of the wider Victorian football public, hoping to build an identity and guiding philosophy future generations will identify as the beating heart of Melbourne’s newest team.

Their ambition was reflected in the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Scott Munn, an experienced sports administrator who shared the dream of launching a fresh club in the city fast becoming the football capital of Australia.

Each hour in Australia, more than five men die from conditions that are potentially preventable. Foundation 49 is a direct response to this health crisis affecting 49% of the population – and is dedicated to improving the health status of men across each decade of life.

Significant numbers of male-related health problems, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, infertility and colon cancer, could be detected and treated more effectively if men’s awareness of these problems was greater.

Through education of men, their partners, families, employers, communities and government, an opportunity exists to improve the health status and prevalence of the major disease states currently experienced by men.

Foundation 49 was established in the memory of Tony Hitchin , a journalist and former editor of the Herald and Weekly Times magazines who died from a rare form of cancer. During his illness he took every opportunity to raise awareness of men’s health and the need for men to have more regular check-ups.

The Ivanhoe Traders Association hosted the annual street festival on Saturday May 1st between 10am and 4pm.

The community event attracted large crowds of people with grand entertainment. Upper Heidelberg Rd was closed off for the day to accommodate all the entertainment, stalls and people.

Headline acts included Ben 10, Peppa Pig and Mark Seymour who was the former lead singer of Hunters and Collectors. All were performing for free on our main stage throughout the day. Other attractions included Magical Show, Jumping Castle, Animal Farm, Stalls, Lucky Dips, Face Painting, Wine Tasting, Kids Activities, Fashion Parades and multiple Giant Hampers that were raffled on the day.

Concours d’Elegance Pty Ltd is governed by an Executive Committee and specialist committees responsible for the preparation and the staging of this inaugural event. They are collectors in their own rights and members of some of the country’s most important prestige car clubs.
